Senior engineering students at The University of Texas at Dallas presented their UTDesign Capstone projects as the culmination of their undergraduate academic careers during the Fall 2021 mechanical and bioengineering UTDesign Expos. Two teams of engineering students designed a rotating chair platform and foot attachment for locomotion through VR, respectively, for our sponsor, HoboLoco Inc.

HoboLoco is an innovator in foot-operated controllers for playing video games and exploring virtual reality, and has a patented invention of an intuitive, natural and effortless controller.  Rick Tett, CEO of HoboLoco, expressed his amazement at some of the ideas created by the UTDesign Capstone  students.  Team Six Locos created a platform chair that allows people to experience VR while in motion, along with controlling the direction. Meanwhile, Team Magic Feet focuses on the movement of feet in locomotion through VR.

Watch as Rick Tett, CEO of Hoboloco Inc., expresses his excitement over how terrific the innovative prototypes were designed by our graduating seniors.
